Your Arts Vision is Happening.
The curtain has been lifted on the brick and mortar design of The Centre for Performing Arts and Culture. This 200 seat facility will open to a wide variety of events, from theatre, to music, displays and special community meetings. It is designed to fit the community needs for arts and culture and bring life to uptown Leamington. This facility will be open to all patrons of the arts within South Essex and its visitors from around the globe. The Arts and Culture committee believes that it will be an increasing factor in why Leamington will continue to be the #1 place to live in Canada. It will also be a great place to see our local talent, young and old strut its stuff on stage in front of its most valuable audience. The facility will be a place for fun, entertainment and local participation, it will be a stage that our talented youth can say they started their musical, theatrical career from, and also a showcase to display the talent we once had to travel miles to see. This centre is a vision that needs partners to make it happen. With a projected cost of $5.3 million needed to construct the centre, and with Leamington Council on Oct.2 approving the proposal and depending upon the community support will provide about $1.7 million towards the projected cost. So how can you help? tell your family and friends, encourage them to visit the Arts Centre and view the conceptual drawings. We encourage you to send a "Letter to the Editor" showing your support to your local newspapers. We want you to spread the word.
For more information on how you can help support, please call the Arts Centre 326-2711 to offer your help as a volunteer or your tangible support as a pledge of financial support to the new arts and cultural centre.
